2025 Hajj: First batch of Kwara pilgrims airlifted
The Kwara State Government has officially launched this year’s 2025 Hajj exercise, successfully airlifting the first batch of 560 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia this afternoon, accompanied by two NAHCON officials.
Addressing the pilgrims before their departure, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of conducting themselves with dignity and representing both the State and Nigeria honorably during their pilgrimage. His Special Adviser and Councillor, Alhaji Saadu Salaudeen, delivered the Governor’s message, urging the 2,174 intending pilgrims from Kwara to pray for peace and harmony in the country, particularly in the State.
The Governor also reminded the pilgrims to avoid any actions that could tarnish the reputation of both Kwara State and Nigeria, encouraging them to foster peace and camaraderie with fellow pilgrims.
Further affirming this message, Professor Mashood Mahmood Jimba, Chairman of the Board, along with the Amirul-Hajj for the year, Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu, advised all intending pilgrims to maintain exemplary conduct throughout their journey.
In his farewell message, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, Executive Secretary of the Board, informed that a total of 2,174 pilgrims will be airlifted through four separate flights as part of this year’s pilgrimage operations.
The pilgrims departed from Babatunde Idi-Agbon International Airport in Ilorin aboard a Max Airline flight that took off at 12:40 PM, heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
