2025 Hajj: First batch of Kwara pilgrims airlift from Ilorin May 12

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of airlift arrangements for intending pilgrims, with the first batch scheduled to depart on May 12, 2025, from Ilorin International Airport to Saudi Arabia.

Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, made this announcement during an enlightenment program for pilgrims at the Board’s premises in Ilorin. He confirmed that vaccination for the pilgrims will begin tomorrow, while the distribution of uniforms is set for Wednesday, followed by the distribution of travel bags on Friday.

The state will organize four flights, each accommodating 550 pilgrims, with a total of 2,174 intending pilgrims from Kwara. The subsequent flights will depart on May 14, 16, and 17.

Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, Chairman of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, urged pilgrims to maintain decorum and avoid abusive language during their journey, especially on the plane of Arafat, to ensure a spiritually fulfilling experience.

Hon. Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen, Grand Khadi of the Shariah Court of Appeal, advised pilgrims to perform their pilgrimage with the utmost fear of Allah and to exercise patience while in the Holy Land for a successful Hajj.

Representatives from the Federal Airport Authority, NAFDAC, NDLEA, Nigerian Customs Service, and FOMWAN emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations and being good ambassadors for the state and country during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

The event featured a demonstration of Hajj rites, providing intending pilgrims with guidance on the necessary steps and procedures to follow during their pilgrimage.
