2025 Budget: Gadaff optimistic of Kwara’s economic future

Hon. Sulaimon Lekan Gadaff has exprssed his confidence in the future of Kwara State.

This is coming as Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State presented the 2025 Budget proposals to the House of Assembly on Friday.

Gadaff in a statement noted that the provisions in the budget will complement the achievements of the current administration and propel Kwara state to a greater heights.

“As a stakeholder in the development of Kwara State, I commend Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for presenting a comprehensive and forward-thinking 2025 budget proposal to the state House of Assembly. The proposed budget of N540,368,119,765.00 prioritizes capital expenditure, allocating 62.1% for infrastructural development and 37.9% for recurrent expenditure.

“I am particularly impressed by the budget’s focus on completing ongoing projects, such as the international conference centre, innovation hub, and several roads across the state. The proposed construction of a multi-story CourtHouse, upgrading of the Metropolitan Square, and reconstruction of Lafiagi and Offa Stadia demonstrate the administration’s commitment to economic stability and sustained prosperity.

“Furthermore, the budget’s emphasis on social protection, Education, and healthcare is laudable. The allocation of 32.50% to the social sector, 16.2% to education, and 10.56% to health underscores the administration’s dedication to the well-being of Kwarans.

He stated that the achievements of the 2024 budget, which includes support for 171,649 farmers, investment in irrigation systems, and provision of N2.2bn worth of farm inputs, are testament to the administration’s effective management of resources.

“I applaud Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his prudent leadership and commitment to transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline. I am confident that the 2025 budget proposal will propel Kwara State toward economic growth, social development, and prosperity for all.” He concluded.
