2025 Arafah sermon to be broadcast live in 38 languages, including Hausa and Yoruba

In a significant move, the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have announced that the 2025 Arafah sermon will be broadcast live in Hausa, Yoruba, Fulani, and 34 additional languages. This initiative is designed to allow pilgrims and listeners from around the globe to engage with the sermon in their native languages.

According to the announcement, “The Hajj Khutbah 1446 will be translated into 34 languages on Thursday, 9 Dhul Hijjah 1446.”

The broadcast will feature a diverse array of languages, including Arabic, Urdu, English, French, Indonesian, Persian (Farsi), Hausa, Chinese (Mandarin), Russian, Bengali, Turkish, Malay (Bahasa Melayu), Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Filipino (Tagalog), Amharic (Ethiopia), Bosnian, Hindi, Dutch, Thai, Malayalam, Swahili, Pashto, Tamil, Azerbaijani, Swedish, Uzbek, Albanian, Fulani (Fula), Somali, Rohingya, and Yoruba.

This year’s broadcast aims to promote Islam’s message of tolerance to a wider audience while enhancing communication between Muslims and non-Muslims.

Furthermore, the Kingdom confirmed on May 27 the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, establishing June 5 as the Day of Arafat, with Eid-el-Kabir set for June 6.
