2023: Some governors trying to manipulate election results – Atiku cries out

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar on Sunday, February 26, 2023 revealed that some state governors were planning to change the results of the election from their states.

The presidential candidate in a statement released on Sunday, said the governors were planning to change the results of elections at the local government collation level.

In a statement signed by Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe and addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu, told the INEC chief to direct the collation officers for Saturday’s election to post the results of the election on the server of the electoral body immediately.

The statement reads: “It will be a disservice to Nigerians and a negation to democracy for anyone to subvert the will of the people as freely expressed in their votes of yesterday.”

He called on the people of the country to be calm but vigilant, and stand against the anti-democratic agents disguising as progressives with the aim of stealing their mandate.

Atiku thanks Nigerians

The presidential candidate of the PDP also thanked the people of Nigeria for giving him support so far and for coming out in large numbers to cast their votes for him on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

He said he’s confident he would win the February 25 presidential elections when results are finally announced by the electoral commission.

“We are humbled and honoured by the early projections, which indicate that the Nigerian people have seen in Atiku Abubakar the kind of leader that they want to lead them into a brighter future,” he said.

“From the current figures that are available, Atiku is winning in many states in the 6 geo-political zones, except Lagos and Kano. We urge our members and party agents to remain steadfast and watchful,” he added.
