10th NASS leadership: Jibrin emerges Deputy Senate President unopposed
Jibrin Barau, the senator-elect representing Kano South, on Tuesday at the plenary, emerged as the Senate Deputy President unopposed.
Barau’s emergence followed his nomination by the Ebonyi State senator-elect and the immediate past Governor, David Umahi (Ebonyi South).
A member-elect (Kwara Central), Saliu Mustapha, supported the nomination.
Barau accepted the nomination and emerged as the Deputy Senate President of the 10th Assembly unopposed.
The Informant247 had earlier reported that a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday emerged as the senate president after defeating his closest rival, Abdulaziz Yari from Zamfara.
