10 bandits killed, kidnap victims rescued in fierce battle with Sokoto residents

Residents of Bimasa in the Tureta local government area of Sokoto State have bravely taken a stand against bandits, leading to the rescue of kidnapped relatives and the reported elimination of over ten assailants.

According to local sources, the villagers tracked the bandits into the forest, where they engaged in a fierce battle that resulted in the death of at least ten attackers. Additionally, the community managed to rescue several kidnapped victims, recovering livestock that had been stolen in the process. One captured bandit was also brought back to the village to face consequences for his actions.

Community leaders applauded the courage displayed by the villagers, calling on government authorities to enhance community security in light of fears of potential reprisals.

Aliyu Tureta, Chairman of Tureta local government, confirmed the events, stating that while six bandits were killed, numerous cattle belonging to the residents were successfully recovered.

The Tureta local government area has faced escalating insecurity, with ongoing reports of bandit attacks leading to tragic outcomes, including killings, abductions, and the displacement of local communities.
